Spokavore Challenge Day 2: Where I Almost Set Off The Fire Alarm…

February 17, 2010

..with my cooking.  Not really, but it did get a little smoky in here.

Well let’s see.  I wasn’t creative today.  I have no desire to cook when I get home from work at 8, nor do I have time to eat dinner in the 15 minute break I have.  However,  I did go grocery shopping!  Woot.

Late Breakfast/Lunch: DOMA Coffee (Layers of Love,* to be exact) with a ‘lil sugar and a Petit Chat lemon poppy seed muffin.

Snacks: Rocket Market Apple and a Chunky Cherry Bumble Bar

Dinner: 1/2 Grilled Cheese (Cougar Sharp Cheddar, Petit Chat Tuscan Bread, Petit Chat Roasted Garlic and Rosemary Butter)  I smoked the house down making this.  I’m an excellent cook.  Well, the Cougar Sharp Cheddar is sharp.  And satisfying. I might eat the other half for lunch.

Libations: Northern Lights Amber Ale

Sidenote: I have a coworker who can bake a mean cupcake.  They are amazing.  Most importantly she makes them semi-often:  birthdays, holidays, and Fat Tuesdays!  Yes, Fat Tuesdays even!  Once upon a time a long long time ago, I told her that I loved her cupcakes, but I always missed them because they get all eaten up before I got to work (I usually work in the late afternoons).  Ever since then, she has made it a point to save a cupcake for me and the other late night coworkers in my department.

Well, I came to work today to find this!

Why yes that is a Mardi Gras cupcake with my name!  Ugh.  It’s going to have to wait there till Saturday..and I will eat it.  Even if it is stale as hell, so help me I will eat it.

*What do you think they mean by a “nice looking” body?

The cupcake was made locally, right? I say you should be able to eat it! :)

Ha! I wish! It’s in a ziploc bag in my fridge right now. I even asked my coworker today if she happened to use local flour..she just laughed at me…
